The Carlton Classic is the opening swim of the Tasmanian Ocean Swim Series, held outside the Carlton Park Surf Lifesaving Club the swim usually entails two laps a 1km diamond shaped course including some gentle waves and some influence from the near by river mouth.

To do this swim you should:

-Be comfortable to swim 3km in a pool
-Own a swimming wetsuit and goggles
-Have spent some time swimming in the ocean with friends
-Know how to body surf or at least be comfortable around waves

The swim is part of a surf festival held on the same day and include something for the whole family. More information to follow closer to the date, but save this one to your calendar and let the ocean swim season commence!
